  Did God kill Adam & Eve?

  we were taught by the borg that death is the result of sin.

  however, notice what the genesis account says:.

  22 and jehovah god went on to say: "here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad, and now in order that he may not put his hand out and actually take [fruit] also from the tree of life and eat and live to time indefinite," 23 with that jehovah god put him out of the garden of e den to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken.

  Yes i see your point mate. But look at it from God's viewpoint he gave them life & everything they needed to sustain it and all he asked for in return was their obedience but they couldn't even do that.

  So surely God had a right to judge them in the way that he chose to.

  I gave my son life, can i judge him anyway I chose to? Can I condemn him to death?

  Think about this, if I put a gun on my childs dresser and told him not to touch it, would I be a good parent? No a loving father would not put it there to begin with. For all intent and purpose Adam and Eve were children (even though adult) inocent and inexperianced. If you believe the Genesis account I can't see how you say god is a loving father.

  So it wasn't sin that did them in, it was god taking away the tree of life. Well i ask you if I deprived someone of something that they need to live, like food or air, and they die as a result then didn't I kill them? Doesn't that make me a murderer?

  hi everyone, don't know if you remember me, i posted a topic a while ago because i was in need of advice about what to do in my life - so to all you who took your time and posted caring replys and good advice, i just want to say that i've made up my mind - i'm continuing my fade for the fourth month and i'm gone from the borg for good.

  if some elders decide to stick their nose in it, i'll shut the door myself.

  there's no future in staying in there for the sake of anyone else, lying to yourself and everyone else.

  How to fade successfully?

  i want to fade from the org but i am not really sure how many meetings i should miss to begin with.

  is it best to decrease them gradually or go once a month?

  i have a son and baby grand daughter that are jw's and belong to a different congregation.

  Hello Maddie and welcome to the board,

  As you can see, I have been a member of the board for just under a year when I started my fade. I faded for the same reasons as you, I have a daughter and grandchild still in. I have been successfull so far but have made some mistakes. My first and biggest mistake was believing that I could tell my daughter why my meeting attendence was dropping. The big light went off in my head when I learned of the Orgs. involvement with the UN and when I told her this it was not the responce I thought it would be. We got past that by me trying to explain that I don't believe that means the org. is wrong, I just need time to see how I feel about it. The longer I don't go the more she seems to accept that I'm not comming back. But be carefull not to say too much. For me that is very hard, I want people to know that I am not just falling away, that it is a concious decision, but I can't do that and keep my daughter.

  It sucks that after we leave we still have to play their game.

  While it might seem a pain in the butt, these laws are there for good reason, its to reduce the amount of avoidable car accidents. Talking on a cell phone is a great way to get distracted while driving, most people agree with that. And with the exception of sneezing (been there, done that, beyond my control), I agree, there are alot of idiotic things you can do to endanger yourself and others on the road, at least the government is trying to eliminate one of them. If that saves even one persons life, its worth it right?

  No, not right!!!

  many people die while swimming, should the gov. try to prevent those deaths too by having everybody wear life jackets to swim in a pool? maybe they should outlaw skydiving as well, that kills lots of people, and what about rock climing, hunting, race car driving, hell people even die while having sex maybe that should be outlawed or regulated as well? Every time the government passes a law like this they take away a little more of the freedoms we are said to have, and I for one am tired of it. I am a better driver with my cell phone to my ear that most people in their 80's paying strict attention to the road, if the gov. is so concerned about saving lives they would get these dangers off of the road, but they won't. If they really want to stop auto accidents, outlaw cars that will do it.

  Though I wasn't raised in the "truth" it didn't prevent me from having an abusive parent. I can certainly empathize with you. Look forward to hearing more.

  I came to a realization just now, how about you?

  i have been inactive now for over a half a year, and i am just now realizing that there was not one thing i enjoyed about being a witness.

  i enjoyed my friends and association with witnesses, and still do.

  but i didn't enjoy one thing that we were supposed to do, not one.

  I almost forgot what I hated most of all. I hated, and I mean HATED when a visiting speaker from Bethel would have the last part on an assembly and he would always run the damn thing over 20 minutes to a half hour. AAAHHHH!!!

  Disfellowshiping only began in 1952!! Before this Witnesses were immoral!

  many witnesses lived together in sin or had many wives before 1952 during the rutherford era, this was frowned apoun but no one was disfellowshiped unless they did something major like critisize rutherford!

  then in watch.

  may 15 1944 and finally watch 1/3 1952, disfellowshiping was invented.

  So in 1918 when Jehovah chose the Witness to be his "Special people" some things were still not 100% right!

  A lot of thing were not right!!! Hell, they thought the end was coming in 1925!
